Antelope Valley Indian Museum shall host the 2nd Annual Holidays at the Homestead on Saturday evening 15 December 2012. The chili cook-off and holiday fest on Paiute Butte in Lake Los Angeles has been revived from times past . Holiday themed and Native items shall also be available.
This year Cowboy performer Michael Tcherkassky shall be bringing his folk pastime to life under the stars. Michael is also known as the Saddle Serenader and has performed cowboy songs at the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival and other events around the country.
Howard Arden Edwards artist and professional set designer built the Indian Museum to house his collection of Indian artifacts , and designed the Craftsman style building with colorful representations of Indian culture and creative hand made furniture.
Howard's wife Rose was known for her chili and cornbread feasts at their 1930's holiday celebration. Her tradition returns with the Indian Museums chili cook-off.
