11 Joshua Tree : headed out to Joshua Tree with Chokea' Kalekoa prior to ths year's Winter Equinoz. He has made the journey the past 20 years , the last 10 in succession. This journey brought him from Brighton England by way of Yosemite and other sites of preparation. We were 2/5s of a dynamic art group sharing our journeys with many of our family and friends at the Native American gatherings for many years back in the early/ mid 90s. This was a good journey for both of us to get this Equinox gathering site preped for his gathering and friends. 10YosemiteSp : Yosemite. In any season, inspirational. The Winter storms came early and with this Spring the Valley is beginning to turn to mud. Snows are still on the ground and the green grass is beginning to sprout. The waterfalls are not as full as they were in January but they still are everywhere, for now. The Ahwanhee hotel is perpetually full of grandeur . At nite her hearths fill the area with the smell of burning pine and oak. For now, the crowds are still at home and the explorations of the valley are somewhat solitary. Yosemite, still a must and best shared, but not for the hurried - this time.....early April 2010.
